Jovanhy Perez-Castaneda is a 2008 RHP with a 6'0'', 205 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends Southridge. Perez-Castaneda has a medium sized frame with a thick body. He has a good strong build with present strength. Perez-Castaneda pitches from an over the top arm slot with a long arm action. He throws with good looseness in his arm and has arm speed through release point. Perez-Castaneda pitches with some effort and has good command of the strike zone. He throws a big breaking curveball with good bite and break to it. Perez-Castaneda showed no fear pitching inside and had a confident demeanor on the mound. He knows how to pitch and works the ball in and out well. Perez-Castaneda fields his position well and hops off the mound to field ground balls and bunts. He pounds the strike zone and should get a lot of ground balls as long as he stays down in the zone.
