Talen Hollowell is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Sacramento, CA who attends John F. Kennedy. The medium built outfielder showed usable athleticism to work hard through the baseball with sound glove work and foot technique, matches the defensive prowess with a short quick arm action that produces quality carry on accurate throws to the bases. At the dish, he swings it out of a wide base with pigeon toed front side. The bat path works slightly down hill to the baseball with ability to back spin ball through the middle. The swing is compact with some explosiveness. On the bump, there's definite projectability with the frame. He operates exclusively out of the stretch with over the top release. The fastball was effective when located down in the zone, to match with a decent spin killer changeup that received some ugly off balanced swings throughout the brief outing. 6.91 60-yard. Great student.
