Adrian Gongora is a 2008 2B/OF with a 5'7'', 142 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends Barbara Goleman. Gongora has a medium sized frame with a thin compact body. Defensively, Gongora has good defensive actions and has a good set up to the ball. He has good footwork and nice hands. Gongora has a good idea of how to play defense and could turn into a solid pick and throw guy from second base. At the plate, Gongora starts with a medium width base and uses a no load approach to start his swing. He has quick hands to the baseball with a compact swing. This allows him to be short and quick to the ball. The introduction of a load or other timing mechanism his bat speed would improve. He swings on a line drive path and has present line drive pop. Gongora is a very good student.
