Daniel Mengden is a 2011 C/RHP with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Westside HS. Strong athletic build, live body actions. Two way prospect. Quick athletic actions defensively, good flexibility and lateral range, plus arm strength, 1.86 best pop time, can shorten release and stay more compact, receives easily. Right handed hitter, bend knee stance, very good bat speed, line drive plane, can power the ball to the gaps, can turn and lift on his pitch, squares up well. Also pitches, fast paced leg raise delivery, 89-91 mph fastball, good sink at times, big breaking curveball, can get over and behind it better. Should keep improving. Very good student, verbal commitment to Houston. Selected to the Aflac All-American team.
