Danny Harris is a 2006 middle infielder from Steele Canyon HS in El Cajon, CA, with a lean 5'10", 145 lb. frame. Harris ran a good sixty (7.18) on a very slow track and showed good quickness in the field and on the bases. Defensively he has good actions with soft hands and good footwork. Harris showed good range from both middle infield positions, but his arm might play better at second base. At the plate he hits right handed from an upright stance with a high back elbow. Harris has an open stance that he closes well at contact, and has good bat speed. He stays balanced throughout his swing with a line drive swing path, and has surprising pop for his size. Harris centers the ball well, and collected several hits during the showcase games.
