Evan Kiely is a 2009 RHP/SS with a 5'10'', 132 lb. frame from Los Gatos CA, who attends Los Gatos HS. He has a lithe, wiry build and is still physically developing. As he does physically develop, all of Kiely's abilities will stand out much more. He has good skill level and is going to be a fine player in time, provided he gets stronger. On the mound he has a clean arm action that works from a hi 3/4 slot. His delivery is on-time and has some rhythm to it. Kiely is a strike thrower and has some feel for the strike zone. His fastball (73-75) has some run and he moved it in and out well. He spins the curveball and slider pretty well and relative to his present day fastball, he throws them with good velocity. Kiely also got outs with his change-up. He knows how to pitch. Offensively Kiely is a contact hitter. He sprays the ball from gap to gap and has a nice approach, letting the ball get deep and showing a willingness to go the other way. He is a good student too.
