2007 World Showcase
Jorge Chevere is a 2007 2B/SS with a 5'10'', 155 lb. frame from San Juan, Puerto Rico, who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy High School. Jorge has a lean athletic build with solid 2B tools. At the plate Jorge is a switch-hitter that looks a little better from the right side of the plate. He hits from a very wide stance with a quick bat and a level swing plane. His swing gets long at times and he will need to work on shortening up and improving his timing. He has good hands in the field with solid body control but his arm will limit him to second base at this point. Jorge is a solid student that could attract the attention of some smaller colleges.
