Carnes is a 6-2, 210 lb senior right handed pitcher from Florida with good strength throughout his body. Carnes has a quick delivery and a standard ¾’s release point. His best pitch is a 75-77 mph fastball that gets very good sinking action down in the strike zone. Hitters at the showcase had trouble with this pitch and Carnes struck out 6 hitters in 3 innings. Carnes curveball and change up are still in the developing stages and he might want to consider developing a slider to go with his sinker. Carnes used his strength well with a bat in his hands and looked like he had some power in his bat. Carnes is an excellent student.
