2003 Sunshine West Showcase
Jackson is a good looking 6 foot 6 pitcher with a long and loose arm. He is only 185 pounds and his frame indicates that there is a lot of room left for him to fill out. As of now, he showed a good easy 80-83 mph fastball that ran in on the hands of right-handed batters. He was sitting at 81 mph in the 5th inning and had nice control of the pitch. His curveball was 68-73 mph and some of them were tighter than others. He has the potential to spin a real nice one. He comes from a 3/4 arm slot and he pitches well with runners on base out of the stretch. He lost nearly no velocity from the stretch and even flashed a nice looking 71 mph change-up that will be one of his best pitches. He uses his body very well and we think he might be in the upper 80's very soon.
