2006 California Underclass
Rico Adams is a 2006 OF/1B from Thomas Jefferson HS, residing in Auburn, WA, with a 5'11" 185 lb. frame. Has a strong build and a near mature body. There is some power in there. As a hitter he took an aggressive hack and showed good bat speed. He is a line drive, opposite field type hitter with decent balance. His swing was a bit inside/out but he had a good finish. Adams saw the ball well by letting the ball get deep, trusting his hands. He hits with a soft front side and handled the ball down in the zone. On defense he stood out my making a diving play in CF. He went back on the ball well and his game playability was better than he looked the workout. He plays hard and has an average arm. Adams' bat has a chance to play at the small college level. More time for development at a JC may enhance his overall game.
