2006 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Adam Hodges is a 2007 SS/RHP from Rocky Mount Academy in Rocky Mount, NC with a 6'1", 160 lb. frame. Adam has a lean athletic build with room to fill out. Offensively Adam keeps his hands inside the ball well with easy lift in his swing to make consistent solid contact. Adam starts from a still no-stride approach that hinders him some at the plate. If he gets hit weight back at the start with a better trigger he will see his performance at the plate improve even more. In the field Adam is a clean fielder that projects best at second base. He can get a little stiff at times and will need to loosen up some. On the mound Adam has a long sling-like arm action. His arm somewhat drags behind his body, but that can easily be fixed with improved mechanics. Adam is a player that will attract the attention of many smaller colleges looking for a quality second baseman.
