Cassidy McDaniel is a 2007 RHP/1B from Fauquier HS in Warrenton, VA with a 6'6", 225 lb. frame. Cassidy has a tall athletic build that is ideal for a pitcher. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a long loose arm action. Cassidy is able to get good extension out front and his arm works well. He shows a sharp downer CB and still has the potential to throw harder. Cassidy seems to have a little too much movement in his delivery and they can cause his mechanics to be inconsistent at times. At the plate Cassidy shows off some big raw power potential. He is somewhat of a raw prospect at the plate as his swing is very long and his approach might be overly aggressive. At first base Cassidy is light on his feet and shows off his big arm. Cassidy is committed to Radford, but could see some draft attention with some cleaning up in his mechanics.
