Mark Waterfield is a 2008 LHP/1B from Tolland HS, residing in Tolland, Connecticut, with a 5'10"/170 pound frame. Mark has a lean frame. He pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action and solid mechanics. Waterfield uses some effort in his delivery and needs to increase his velocity. He will good inside with his 75 mph fastball. Mark mixes in his offspeed stuff well, using a solid curveball at 64 mpg and a changeup with sink at 68 mph. Waterfield hits from a slightly closed stance with a knee lift trigger and a top hand release. He has solid hands and uses the whole field. His swing gets long and he needs to improve his bat speed. Mark has soft hands and receives the ball well at first base. He has a solid release at 70 mph. Waterfield is a good student.
