Adam Powers is a 2006 OF/2B from Kennedy Memorial HS in Seattle, WA, with a 5'10", 170 lb. frame. He was named to the top prospect team at the event. Powers has great speed and can make things happen with his legs. He ran a 6.78 sixty on a very slow track, but has even better game quickness. Powers gets great jumps on stolen bases and his first step quickness is outstanding. Every time Powers got on base, you knew he was going to steal a base. Offensively he has more to his game than just speed. Powers has very good bat speed with a line drive swing plane and makes adjustments with his hands well. There is a slight hand hitch at the start of his swing and he has a tendency to get his weight out on his front side too early. These mechanical things are correctable and Powers shows the athleticism and adjustability with his hands to make the adjustment. Defensively he covers a great deal of ground in the outfield with solid carry on his throws. His speed alone will get him to the next level, but he has a good set of tools to round out his game. He is a must follow.
