Zach Reid is a 2008 RHP/3B/OF with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Thunder Bay ON, who attends Hammarskjold HS. He has an athletic look to him, good looseness and nice projectability. Reid throws from a tall delivery with little lower half involvement. He has a short arm action that could lengthen out as he works on his delivery and getting his lower half involved. His arm works well and has some quickness. Reid's fastball was 72-74 mph with sinking action. The most interesting thing that Reid did was throw a true curveball at 66-68 mph with tight spin and late biting action. It wasn't a slider and to throw a curveball that hard in comparison to your fastball is one of the best projectors of increased fastball velocity there is. Reid should start seeing his fastball velocity move up quickly. He is working on a change up at 64 mph. Reid is a good follow who isn't showing much velocity now as a young 16 year old but will soon.
