2005 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Honeycutt is a 6-3, 190 lb senior first baseman from North Carolina with good present strength. He is a 7.75 runner who threw 74 mph during infield and 75 mph from the outfield during drills. Honeycutt handled himself well around the first base bag. At the plate, Honeycutt hits from a wide stance with a long, strong swing with some lift in it. He has some pop with wood on contact but his swing is much better suited to metal at this point and he probably can hit the ball a long way against mid-level high school pitching. Honeycutt is an exceptional student.
