James Cooper Mohrmann is a 2017 SS/ with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Second Baptist High School. Smaller build and frame with athleticism and room to continue to fill out physically. Posted a 7.09 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, showed a good first step with sound footwork and worked well through the ball. Decent back hand play with developing arm strength. At the plate, started with a medium hand set with a high back elbow and a stride towards the ball. Line drive swing plane with separation and worked the whole field. Fired hips to the ball and found the barrel with intent to drive the ball. Quick bat with a solid hit tool. Outstanding student.
