Sam Perri is a 2015 LHP/1B with a 6-0 140 lb. frame from Towanda, PA who attends Athens Area. Large frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out. Ran a 5.82 40 yard dash. Left handed pitcher who works from a high three-quarter arm slot with an on line delivery. Short arm action in back, repeats delivery well, and is able to generate downhill plane. Fastball topped at 72 mph and shows the ability to spot it well to both sides of the plate. Has a feel for both off speed pitches, a curveball showing 1-7 shape with short break and a changeup at 68 mph, flashing fading action. Induces weak ground ball contact. Left handed hitter, uses a small leg kick trigger, front side opens early, gets the barrel through the zone. Very good student.
