Taylor Barber is a 2016 C/IFRHP with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Flower Mound, TX who attends Liberty Christian School. Big and strong athletic build, fairly mature physically. Polished actions behind the plate defensive, limited gain on throws but is quick and compact and has a strong arm, 1.90 best pop time, game actions, has good footwork in all aspects of the position. Switch-hitter, better this look from the right side, tall stance with a stride into contact, hits from above the ball with a short downhill swing that has some bat speed and strength at contact, fluid well timed swing. Swing is more rotational and longer from the left side. Also pitched, simple delivery he repeats well, sinker/slider pitching style that keeps the ball low and gets lots of early count ground ball contact, fastball topped out at 82 mph but was up to 86 mph this summer at PG events. Very good student, does not have a college commitment at this time.
