Casey Miles is a 2015 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Cary, NC who attends Cary Academy. Medium frame with a strong, athletic build. Primary left handed pitcher, shows a short arm action with a tight release and throws from a three-quarter arm slot. Works from a balanced, online delivery. Fields position well. Loose arm, gets fastball up to 82 mph with sinking action. Commands three pitches well, slider is out pitch with late bite at 73 mph and maintains arm speed on changeup, which shows solid fading action. Attacks hitters and stays low in the zone. Fields out front at first base, has good footwork, shows a quick transition and release. Left handed batter, short path to the ball, uses lower half nicely to shift weight in swing, flashes strength in swing. Very good student. Named to National Underclass Session 3 Top Prospect Team.
