John Mullis is a 2016 RHP with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Cornelia, GA who attends White County HS. Medium athletic build, has some strength in his lower half. Simple balanced pitching mechanics with good use of his lower half, fast and loose arm from a high 3/4's arm slot, fluid and polished and repeats everything well. Fastball topped out at 89 mph, ball comes out of his hand fast and easy, works his fastball well to both sides of the plate and will vary the speed and type of life on the pitch. Did not observe a breaking ball although he has consistently thrown a curveball in the past. Variance in fastball velocity occasionally acts as a change up but working on a slower change with uneven feel at present. Fastball is an out pitch but development will key on his secondary pitches. Very good student.
