Sean Sweeney is a 2007 MIF with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame from Palmdale, CA, who attends Palmdale High School. Lean, athletic build with a medium frame. Defensively Sweeney has a very strong arm from across the diamond with good accuracy. He has plus actions at shortstop with nice footwork and soft hands, and moves very well. Sweeney showed very good range to both sides and has the ability to make all the plays in the middle infield. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an upright and closed stance. He looks very comfortable in the box using a knee lift trigger and has a good bat path to the ball. Sweeney has the ability to make solid contact and uses the whole field. He is a hustle type player and that has instincts for the game. He is a fun player to watch, and he has upside. Also a good student.
