Joseph Quire is a 2014 1B/3B, OF, RHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from La Verne, CA who attends Bonita. Long thin build with room to fill. Primary 1B now, but showed a lot of potential on the mound, running his fastball up to 87 mph. Pitches from a three quarter arm slot, good late movement on fastball, arm side run is short but sudden. Online delivery, long arm action, arm works well, good extension out front, long stride and big hand separation. Hard spin on 12-6 curveball, flashes bite, throws it for strikes, potential above average to plus offering with further development, needs to work on locating it in bottom corners. Good command to arm side, throws strikes to glove side but a bit less command there, appears to be new to pitching but has an aptitude. Flashed hard contact from a power oriented swing approach, had a ball register at 90 mph off the bat, swing creates leverage. Good defensive 1B, sure hands, short arm action, accurate throws. Good student.
