Ron DiMatteo is a 2014 LHP/OF with a 5-10 210 lb. frame from Media, PA who attends Penncrest High School. Stocky build, muscular and has some present athleticism. Ran a 7.39 60 yard dash. Works from a three-quarter arm angle on the mound, steps across his body and creates a deceptive angle. Tough to pick up, throws a lot of strikes. Uses his lower half well. Moves the ball around, moves fastball in and out. Reached 83 mph, also mixed a tight curveball at 76 mph. More fastball velocity in the tank. Two high quality offerings. Also hit, showed good bat speed and flashed pull power, hits the ball deep into the gaps. Pull happy approach, takes an aggressive cut. Defensive actions needs improvement, but shows above average arm strength from the outfield. Legitimate two way upside.
