2013 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Derek Perry is a 2014 2B/SS, 3B, OF with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Belmont, NC who attends South Point. Strong, medium frame with a mature, athletic build. Ran a 7.24 60 yard dash. Uses athleticism in the infield with good lateral range and moves feet well to get himself in a good position to throw. Has a strong, accurate arm across the infield and consistently makes all throws. Flashes big arm strength from the outfield, up to 91 mph, with good carry, getting on top of throws well. All throws were accurate and to the base. Right handed hitter with a high hand set and a very balanced base. Good torque and quick hands allow him to get to inside pitches with ease and create power in swing. Named to Top Prospect List. Good student and verbal commitment to Liberty.
