Trey Hayes is a 2006 MIF/3B from Crestview High School in Crestview, Florida, with a strong 6'1'', 175 lb. frame. Hayes is a physically mature player with good tools. Defensively he has good hands with nice footwork and actions. He works well around the second base bag and turns the double play well. Hayes also has a solid arm with online carry and accuracy. At the plate the right handed hitter has a short bat path to the ball with good bat speed. Hayes hits the ball hard consistently and gets leverage in his swing that helps generate raw power. Hayes hit a HR during batting practice and likes to pull the ball hard with authority. He stays balanced through his swing, and will hit for average and power at the next level. He is also an excellent student with upside on and off the field.
