Fowler is a 6-2 junior catcher from North Carolina with a nice projectable body and some present wiry strength. He hits from a balanced stance with bent knees with a good weight shift through the ball. Fowler generates some whippy bat speed and showed some power both to right centerfield and when pulling the ball. Defensively, Fowler has good athletic quickness shifting to the ball and showed developing arm strength. His biggest challenge as a catcher is often keeping his long frame and actions compact and short. One thing that will help Fowler is that he’s a full time hustling player who showed us a great attitude and great instincts on the field. Those type of players improve. Fowler is also a top notch student off the field.
