Jack Benninghoff is a 2014 OF/MIF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Rockhurst HS. Strong athletic build, fairly mature physically. 6.83 runner, versatile defensive player who can play all over the field, big arm strength from the outfield with accurate, on line throws, will throw runners out. Solid infield actions, very good range, hands a bit stiff at the ball but good for secondary infielder, arm strength plays big in the infield as well. Right handed hitter, very aggressive swing with bat speed, ball comes off hard, busy hand load/big leg raise and effort don't impact balance and ability to repeat his swing, ball comes off the barrel hard, good game contact with gap power. Extremely high energy player on the field with a big motor, competes hard. Very good student, verbal commitment to Arkansas.
