Billy Hamilton is a 2007 3B/P/C with a 6'0'', 190 lb. frame from Rialto, CA, who attends Carter HS. Large frame with present strength. Defensively he has a good arm release from third base and is accurate with his throws. Hamilton had good feet and shows nice range at 3B. He likes to play and was willing to take all the throws from the outfielders during the workout portion. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a deep crouch. He uses a toe tap trigger and takes an aggressive swing. Hamilton stays inside the ball well and has the ability to go the other way with line drives. On them mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with solid arm action and arm speed. Hamilton uses a higher leg kick, but he stays inline and balanced over the rubber. His fastball topped out at 83 mph. He mixed in a straight change at 75 mph, and threw two different breaking balls between 67-74 mph. The harder he threw his breaking ball, the tighter the break. Hamilton struck out 5 in his 3 IP. He is also an outstanding student.
