2012 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Sean Smith is a 2013 RHP/3B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Council Bluffs, IA who attends Abraham Lincoln HS. Large framed athletic build, room to add more strength. Over the top release point, tends to drift to the plate early and rush arm circle, cross body release, lands on side of lead foot. Steady mid 70's fastball, topped at 76 mph, mostly straight. Slider best pitch, has some depth and two-plane break, also throws curveball with different release, softer spin with bigger downer shape. RIght handed hitter, long smooth swing, pull approach, flashes occasional strength. Good student.
