Mike Velasco is a 2014 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Basking Ridge, NJ who attends Ridge. Athletic left handed pitcher with more strength to come. Strength in lower half. 3/4 slot, long take back with arm. Good mechanics, easy and effortless delivery. Ball comes out of hand easily, Good control and feel for pitching, Curveball showed 2/8 break and flashed depth. Very good defensive first base. Quick feet, nimble around bag, clean arm action. Left handed hitter, Compact swing, smooth to the ball with bat quickness. Most comfortable pulling ball. Strong and balanced. Good overall potential. Very good student.
