Defensively, he has good footwork, and quick hands behind the plate. He has solid arm mechanics with a pop of 2.00, and threw 74 mph from home to second, and 77 mph across the infield. On the mound he pitches in-line from a 3/4 arm slot, but falls off towards first base on his finish. he has a good arm action without any tension, and topped out at 77 mph. He throws a big slow curve at 59-61 mph that has an 11-5 break. Ryan has good raw tools, and room to get stronger which will make him a big college prospect.
