2004 Western Underclass Showcase
Richie is a 2006 grad from Las Vegas, Nevada with a strong, durable, mature build that works well for a catcher. He has good quickness behind the plate for his size and age and plays with lots of energy. Richie's arm strength is below average right now but he makes up for that with a quick release. At the plate, Richie has a tall stance from the left side and uses his strength to generate good bat speed. He likes to be aggressive and pull the ball and hit one really nice double to right centerfield that jumped off his bat quickly. Overall, Richie has a nice balance of offensive and defensive tools and a very good approach on the field. Wiith hard work he should continue to improve his game and move on to the next level. Richie is a good student as well.
