2004 Underclass National Showcase
Patrick Wilson -- Wilson is a junior outfielder from Florida with solid strength throughout his body and particularly in his lower half. This young man looks like he’s going to hit with some serious power at the next level. Wilson has a nice balanced approach at the plate with a wide stance and well above average bat speed. The ball jumps off his bat and Wilson has some loft in his swing that’s going to translate to doubles and home runs in the future. Wilson took a turn on the mound and while he didn’t show the same type of arm strength he did from the outfield, he did throw up to 78 mph with a good change up, good command and nice athletic actions. His bat could take him a long ways. Patrick is a very good student.
