Michael Jacobs is a 6-0, 175 lb senior left handed pitcher from Kansas with a medium athletic build. He throws from a complicated delivery with a big pause at the top and a high arm circle. All the hitter sees for a while is arms and legs coming at him, which is probably very deceptive. Jacobs repeated his delivery well and threw consistent strikes. His fastball was 82-84 mph with flat running action from a tight mid 3/4's release point. He'll sometimes turn over his fastball at 79 mph and get more sinking action with the run. Jacobs threw a big sweeping 11/6 curveball at 67-70 mph as his breaking pitch and mixed in a couple of 67 mph change ups. Jacobs knows how to pitch a bit and has a strong arm. He can definitely pitch as a southpaw at the college level. He is also a very good student.
