Matt Catania is a 5'7" 2005 middle infielder from Pennsylvania with polished baseball skills and some good middle infield tools. He has nice actions in the middle of the field and surprisingly good arm strength for his size. Catania looks like the type who has spent a lot of time fielding ground balls in practice and he makes plays with confidence. He could improve defensively with a bit more quickness and lower body life. Offensively, Catania has a short, balanced swing and good hand strength. He has a knee lift trigger that gets him going and a sound line drive approach. Good all around player and a good student.
