2005 Ohio Valley Top Prospect
Mark Kelly is a 2006 LHP/1B from Wheaton North HS in Winfield, IL, with a 6'0'', 155 lb. frame. He throws with a full hip turn, high knee raise and long extended arm action from a 3/4's release point. Kelly's fastball topped out at 76 mph with good left hander's sinking action. Kelly's curveball as a sharp downer at 60 mph and was a nice pitch for him. We didn't see a change up. Kelly mixed his two pitches up well, repeated his delivery and threw strikes well. He has the looseness to project him gaining more velocity in the future. Kelly is an excellent student off the field.
