Boberg is a tall and slender 6-3 junior second baseman/outfielder from Illinois. Although he lists himself as a primary second baseman and played that position primarily in games, we think that he best profiles to the outfield. His 7.12 speed helps him out there and Boberg’s fielding mechanics and actions aren’t suited as much to the infield as the outfield. Boberg’s best tool right now aside from his speed is his bat. He hits from a tall stance with a slashing swing that doesn’t get much lower half involvement. The ball jumped off Boberg’s bat pretty well in BP and he had some hard hits in the games as well. He could improve with more upper body strength and more lower half involvement. Boberg is a very good student.
