Andrew Powers is a 2006 MIF/OF from Kennedy Memorial HS in Seattle, WA, with a 5'10", 170 lb. frame. Powers was named to the top prospect team at the event. Like his brother Adam, Andrew makes things happen with his legs. He ran a 7.12 on a slow track and showed even better game quickness. Defensively he shows his athleticism in the OF and MIF with good range. During one of the showcase games he made a great play ranging far to his right while playing second base. At the plate the right handed hitter takes a small to no stride with good bat speed. Powers is a line drive hitter who puts the ball in play and makes things happen. He had several stolen bases during the games, and uses his speed as a tool. Powers is a solid all-around player that needs to be followed. He is also a good student.
