RHP Jordan Herbert: Herbert is a junior right handed pitcher from Wisconsin with a projectable 6-2 frame and a nice loose arm. He has a high leg kick and full hip turn that leaves his back to the hitter, but he gets through it well enough. Some simplicity in his delivery might aid his future command. Herbert’s release point is high ¾’s and he gets good plane to the plate on an 84-85 mph fastball. Herbert maintained that kind of velocity well during his three innings of work. His curveball was 68-71 mph and he altered his delivery and arm speed somewhat on this pitch. Herbert also threw a 73 mph change up. Overall, this young prospect has a good arm and will continue to get better if he can gradually modify some of his pitching mechanics.
