Andrew Fowler is a 2006 catcher from The Bishop's School in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, with a 6'2", 205 lb. frame. Fowler is a strong bodied catcher with advanced tools, especially at the plate. Offensively, he hits from the right side with a crouched stance and he uses a toe tap trigger with little to no stride. Fowler loads his hands well and shows very good bat speed with present raw power. During batting practice he hit several home runs, and during the games he centered the ball well with several solid base hits. Fowler has the hands to hit for a high average and the strength to hit with power. Defensively he showed good ability blocking balls to either side, and he centers the ball well on his chest. Fowler has solid arm strength, and could improve his pop times by quickening up his release. He has a chance to be a middle of the order bat at the next level and should be followed closely. Fowler is also an outstanding student.
