Jay Haak is a 2005 LHP from Oak Ridge North, TX. Haak has a slender 6'0" frame with a young face and some good physical projectability. He has a short, quick arm stroke that generates an 80-83 mph fastball that he would occasionally turn over as a sinker. Haak’s breaking ball was a 68 mph curveball that had a slurve type of break. Haak tends to aim this pitch a bit and he has the physical ability to make this a tighter pitch in the future. Haak does a good job of mixing pitches effectively and should add some velocity as he gets stronger and more physically mature. He shows good control and good velocity projection. Jay is a good student.
