Evan Pedrick is a 2006 catcher/first baseman from Sarasota, Florida at 6'0", 205 pounds. He hits from a wide stance and shows good balance throughout the swing. He has strong hands and has decent bat speed with an all upper body swing. He showed good bat control and can go to the opposite field. He has a long, uppercut swing plane which creates loft and big power shots when he makes solid contact. Behind the plate, he has a strong solid base and receives the ball well. He has a long arm action and showed decent arm strength at 73 mph. He popped a 2.25 and could improve that with a smoother transfer and quicker release. He is a big power hitting catcher that will produce at the next level. He is a good student.
