2003 Spring Showcase
This not-so-tall lefty from Ontario showed a lively fastball and lots of strikes with both of his off-speed pitches. Mechanically he looked sound in his lower half and his arm worked in a short but effective manner. He extended his elbow early but found the same release point and was able to get outs with the curve. His fastball was between 79-81mph and the curve was consistetly at 70-71. He also showed a change-up at 72mph and it ran away from right-handed batters. In the field he threw with 82 mph velocity and displayed an uppercut type swing. His first position is pitching and he looks like he will be an effective left-hander at the college level.
