2006 California Underclass
Alex Sandoval is a 2007 OF/1B/3B from Mesquite HS, residing in Gilbert, AZ, with a 6'0" 180 lb. frame. Has a husky build on a large frame. Offensively Sandoval showed good bat speed and made loud contact with the wood bat. He fires his hands the way good hitters can and do. Sandoval was aggressive early in the BP round, showing power and a very intriguing offensive package. However, he got tired in that BP due to having to work way to hard to give maximum results. He expends energy early but the power is in there. Defensively he makes side arm sling throws but has good hands and a good set-up to the ball. He is a fielder and an accurate thrower. Follow him into the summer and see how the bat is playing, there may be something there.
