Travis Barrett is a 2007 RHP with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Bonaire GA, who attends Westfield HS. He has a medium frame with a lean projectable build and long limbs for his height. Barrett throws from a high 3/4's release point and does a very good job of throwing downhill and creating plane on his pitches. He pitches closed withhis front side and hides the ball very well, creating deception for the hitter. Barrett's fastball was 86-90 mph and he maintained his velocity very well at 88-89 mph. His fastball was straight but the downward plane helped. His 74 mph change up was his best secondary pitch with consistent good arm speed. He could use this pitch more. Barrett's curveball flashed good action and a true downer break from his release point. It had good velocity up to 74 mph but Barrett tended to overthrow it frequently. Barrett has a quality arm and the makings of two good off speed pitches and looks to be a good athlete with some projection. He's a very good follow.
