Spencer Humphrey is a 2008 1B/OF with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame from Dublin, California, who attends Dublin High School. Humphrey has a compact frame with athleticism. He ran a solid sixty of 7.01, and he moved well in game action. Defensively he sets up well at first base, and he moves well around the bag in game action showing solid footwork. His throws are accurate at 73 mph across the diamond. Humphrey also showed good baseball sense being in the right place at the right time. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an average base with a toe tap trigger. He gets right up on the plate, but he has the bat speed to do it. He is very balanced through his swing, and he has a short path to the ball. He centers the ball consistently, and he is a line drive contact hitter. He runs well on bases, and he plays hard. Humphrey is a good student as well.
