Anthony Uyeno is a 2008 1B/3B with a 6'0'', 208 lb. frame from Vallejo CA, who attends Hogan HS. He has a strong, thick, physical build, with good present day strength. Uyeno looks like he has some thunder in his bat, and he does. He has plus bat speed and swings the bat very aggressively. He has strong hands and gets good plate coverage. Uyeno can overpower a ball and it carries off his bat, resulting in some loft power. He is a middle of the line-up thumper, and he comes by it naturally. Defensively he is much better than a scout might think when looking at his physical body. He has feel for playing defense, with soft hands and feet that work. Range is not a strong suit, but he is good in his area.
