Alex Carrow is a 2007 right hand hitting outfielder from Sanger HS, residing in Sanger, TX. He has a long, athletic body on his sinewy strong 6'4" 193 lb. frame that has plenty of room to continue to fill out. Carrow is what you could call a "good body guy." Carrow has a good set of raw tools and is still developing them into usable skills. He has a very good chance of developing into a solid professional prospect if given a few years to continue getting better. At the plate Carrow sets up with a high back elbow and from there has a steep swing plane. That type of swing plane can produce a lot of spin and carry off the bat, if he stays on the ball through contact with a linear hand path. Carrow was leaning back to stay behind the ball, seemingly trying to hit for some power that will come to him as the years go by. He got to the pull side quite easily and there is a lot of raw life in his bat and he an excellent player to follow. Carrow is a good athlete and got out of the box well. If he is focused on hitting hard line drives and ground balls, he can put a lot pressure on the defense because he does have plus speed. In the outfield Carrow showed near plus raw arm strength and a quick arm stroke. The ball really got out of his hand well. His defensive tools fit all three outfield spots well as does his athleticism. If his power develops, then he could certainly develop into a prototype right fielder, though it is likely he gets to stay in centerfield. Carrow ran 4.33 home/1st with a laser timed 6.52 60 yard time. He is a projection type player and should be followed closely by the pro game. He would do well to either continue to develop at the D1 level or it may be a better path for him to attend a JC as a draft follow prospect. In any case, remember the name.
