Robbie Nickels is a 2007 OF/C with a 5'11'', 175 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ, who attends Horizon HS. Nickels has a medium frame with present strength. Defensively he moves to the ball well with fluid actions showing range and instincts. He has a very strong arm throwing 88 mph from right field with good arm speed and online carry to the bag. Nickels showed accuracy, and should keep runners from taking an extra base. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a slightly open and crouched stance. Nickels has a good swing with a quick bat. He has strong hands and takes an aggressive swing on pitches in the zone. His line drive swing and strength produce power to all fields, and he should hit for more power in the future. He had a great batting practice, and hit multiple balls hard in game action. Once on the bases he has solid speed with very good instincts. Nickels is a must follow with all-around skills.
